A fresh, low-cost EV platform has been in the works at Ford for a while now, starting with a mid-size pickup as its first star. The name is still under wraps, but the Ranchero badge is a top contender in the rumor mill. As reported by Ford Authority, Ford Motor Company has submitted paperwork to the USPTO seeking trademark rights to the Ranchero name.
